Reports: KFYI's Hayworth Mulls Run To Challenge McCain

Reports in the PHOENIX BUSINESS JOURNAL and the WASHINGTON POST say that CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFYI-A/PHOENIX afternoon host and former Congressman J.D. HAYWORTH is considering running in next year's Republican Senate primary in a challenge to Sen. JOHN MCCAIN (R-AZ).

HAYWORTH would be a second challenger to MCCAIN, whose record on illegal immigration is not as hardline as some Republicans prefer; MINUTEMEN co-founder/spokesman CHRIS SIMCOX has previously indicated that he will run against MCCAIN.
