CBS RADIO NEWS reporter CAMI MCCORMICK made her first on-air appearance since being seriously injured in AFGHANISTAN in AUGUST, providing a voiceover for a segment on the CBS EVENING NEWS MONDAY about covering the war.
MCCORMICK, who was injured in an IED explosion and is recovering in WASHINGTON, said that she "definitely would go back to AFGHANISTAN. I'm eager to go back to AFGHANISTAN." And she discussed a politician in the country who had survived three assassination attempts and how she asked him "why do you do what you do? You have a family. And he said, 'If I wouldn't do it. Who would?'"
The segment also featured reflections on covering the war from correspondents BYRON PITTS, LARA LOGAN, SCOTT PELLEY, TOM ANDERSON, DAVID MARTIN, and MARY WALSH.
