MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO is suing AL GORE's CURRENT TV cable network for trademark infringement, claiming that the TV network started calling itself "CURRENT" four months after MPR applied for a trademark for "THE CURRENT" for its Adult Alternative KCMP/MINNEAPOLIS.
The cable network, a wheel of viewer-produced amateur news reports, issued a statement saying that over 300 businesses in the country use "current" in their names and that no consumers are confusing the cable network with the radio station.
