OFCOM's latest Broadcast Bulletin has the U.K.'s broadcasting regulator finding GMG RADIO AC SMOOTH RADIO NORTHWEST (SMOOTH RADIO 100.4)/MANCHESTER in breach of Rule 2.11 of the Broadcast Code for a "Win A Holiday In MAY" contest that omitted from its on-air rules the fact that winners would have to pay airport taxes on their trips, about 400 pounds' worth. The tax liability appeared in the printed version of the contest rules, available online, but the promos called the prizes "all-inclusive."
OFCOM determined that the prize was "not described accurately on air."
