Don Geronimo Exits WGMD

Former syndicated "DON AND MIKE SHOW" co-host DON GERONIMO reports on his POSTEROUS blog that he has exited RESORT BROADCASTING CO. Talk WGMD/REHOBOTH BEACH, DE-OCEAN CITY, MD, where he was handling 9a-noon ET since JUNE 22nd.

On his blog, GERONIMO writes that "Now is the time to decide the next step in my broadcasting career, because next OCTOBER (the end of his noncompete with CBS RADIO) is closer than I ever imagined. I had hoped to cement a full-time position at WGMD and eventually offer my show via syndication in a year. Turns out I have a lot of options open to me. I told the folks at WGMD three weeks ago that everything was coming to a head, and I'd either have to make the jump into joining them full time or get ready to move on. I got my answer today (MONDAY). Upper management at WGMD is still undecided if I'm the right fit, and I am in a position where I can't wait." 

GERONIMO praised PD/morning host DAN GAFFNEY as "one of the brightest talents left in our industry" and added that "I am sad it didn't work out at WGMD, but still think it's a one of a kind gem of a radio station. And I'll always be a fan."
