A book on the inner workings of the COUNCIL ON AMERICAN-ISLAMIC RELATIONS claims that CAIR spent $160,000 on a campaign to get TALK RADIO NETWORK's MICHAEL SAVAGE off the air.
WORLD NET DAILY reports that the book, "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America," cites internal CAIR documents quoting the organization's Executive Director NIHAD AWAD calling the campaign a success because it cost SAVAGE at least $1 million in advertising. The book also says that CAIR planned to expand the campaign, "Hate Hurts AMERICA," to target other talk show hosts, but that a memo warned against going after clients directly promoted by or endorsed by SAVAGE, because "they might sue."
The book, authored by P. DAVID GAUBATZ and PAUL SPERRY, includes information about the SAVAGE campaign uncovered by GAUBATZ' son CHRIS, who posed as a Muslim and served as a CAIR intern for six months.
