A settlement reached among competing bidders for bankrupt Urban WJNZ-A/GRAND RAPIDS will end up with the sale of the station to HOLY FAMILY RADIO going through after a six-month delay and ROBERT S. WOMACK ending up with the station's calls and format for use on a different frequency to be obtained.
The GRAND RAPIDS PRESS reports that WOMACK's ROBERT S RADIO will operate WJNZ on its present 1140 AM frequency for six months and then will have, jointly with GOODRICH RADIO, the right to take the calls and format elsewhere while HOLY FAMILY RADIO closes on the 1140 AM station.
Judge CHRISTOPHER YATES approved the previously granted sale, which is valued at $310,000, last week; the station went into receivership in MAY.
