ALPHA BROADCASTING Talk KXL-A/PORTLAND has inked talker LARS LARSON to a new five-year deal to continue his two daily radio shows from the station. LARSON does a local/regional show on 18 stations in OREGON and WASHINGTON and a nationally syndicated show on about 150 stations for COMPASS MEDIA NETYWORKS from KXL.
"I couldn’t be more excited about the confidence ALPHA BROADCASTING has shown in signing me to continue service to the people of OREGON and WASHINGTON on the radio," said LARSON. "I first came to KXL in March 1980 and covered the biggest story of my career here (MT. ST. HELENS) and it’s great to be here 30 years later. President OBAMA only has a little over three years left in his term, but I’ll be here long after he’s out of office!"
"This is a fantastic day for the broadcast community and for the ALPHA team,” said ALPHA Pres./COO BOB PROFFITT. "LARS is a huge part of the culture here and whether you agree with his viewpoint or not, he’s always entertaining."
