COLORADO PUBLIC RADIO says that despite the "Cash for Clunkers" program, the public broadcaster experienced a sharp upturn in the number of used cars donated to the station. The DENVER POST's JOANNE OSTROW reports that CPR collected 326 cars in the last fiscal year, up from 186 in the previous year.
Donors get a tax writeoff for their car donations to CPR.
CPR's FALL pledge drive enabled the company to beat its annual $1.6 million goal with 7,064 pledges totaling $851,663, an increase from FALL 2008's 5,856 pledges totaling $746,326.
