FCC Announces Agenda, Panelists For Ownership Workshops

The agenda and participants in the FCC's NOVEMBER 2nd-4th workshops on media ownership have been announced, with a long list of questions to be addressed and three panels assembled.
The NOVEMBER 2nd panel is billed as a "Policy Scholars' Panel," moderated by FCC Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis Chief PAUL DE SA. On the panel are academics C. EDWIN BAKER of PENN LAW, CATHERINE SANDOVAL of SANTA CLARA LAW, JOEL WALDFOGEL of PENN's WHARTON SCHOOL, STEVEN WILDMAN of MICHIGAN STATE, SIMON WILKIE of USC, and former FCC Commissioner HAROLD FURCHTGOTT-ROTH.
On NOVEMBER 3rd, a "Public Interest Group Panel" moderated by Chairman JULIUS GENACHOWSKI's Senior Counsel COLIN CROWELL will feature former FCC Media Bureau chief and current PROGRESS AND FREEDOM FOUNDATION Senior Fellow KEN FERREE, the UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST's CHERYL LEANZA, MEDIA ACCESS PROJECT head ANDY SCHWARTZMAN (representing PROMETHEUS RADIO PROJECT), the FUTURE OF MUSIC COALITION's KRISTIN THOMSON, and FREE PRESS' S, DEREK TURNER.
On NOVEMBER 4th, Media Bureau Chief WILLIAM T. LAKE will moderate a "Broadcasters and Industry Panel" including the NAB's JANE MAGO, MEDIA GENERAL's GEORGE MAHONEY, NABOB's JAMES L. WINSTON, and more panelists yet to be confirmed.
