CBC RADIO ONE will start its morning hourly 10-minute news segment "WORLD REPORT" at 5a weekdays and is replacing anchor JUDY MADDREN with foreign correspondent PETER ARMSTRONG as part of sweeping changes at the CBC's radio and TV news operations. "WORLD REPORT" will air 5-8a weekdays and 6-9a SATURDAYS.
The changes, which also include a rebranding of the CBC NEWSWORLD cable network to CBC NEWS NETWORK (CBC NN), several new TV news shows on cable, and a revamping of the set and addition of weekend editions for the network's flagship TV news show THE NATIONAL, take effect MONDAY (10/26).
