The COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME & MUSEUM has announced that CAPITOL/NASHVILLE star KEITH URBAN's "We're All For The Hall" concert in NASHVILLE on OCTOBER 13th has raised over $500,000 so far. This number will grow even more as corporate donations and proceeds from an online auction are tabulated.
MUSEUM Director KYLE YOUNG said: “As KEITH said from the stage of the SOMMET CENTER, this was ‘one of the greatest open-mike nights ever seen in NASHVILLE'." 'We’re All for the Hall' not only set a new standard for fundraising and event coordination, it brought together an entire community and helped us to see just what can be done by individuals when there is collective passion for a cause. There is no question that this is a game changer for us as we work to preserve the history of country music and teach its cultural importance to an international audience.”
Over 14,000 fans attended the sold-out show, which was broadcast online with help from VERIZON and SAMSUNG. Next year's event will take place OCTOBER 5, 2010, at the SOMMET CENTER in MUSIC CITY. For more on this story, click here.
