Classical-Eclectic CBC RADIO TWO and RADIO-CANADA French Classical ESPANCE MUSIQUE will air an expanded schedule of performances by the CANADIAN OPERA COMPANY this season, with all seven of the opera company's mainstage performances recorded for broadcast.
The stations had previously aired one or two COC productions each season. The plan involves the COC financing and producing the tapings, with the operas each getting airings on the two stations and then being available on the COC and CBC websites for 12 months.
The 2009-2010 slate of operas kicks off with MADAMA BUTTERFLY, to air on CBC RADIO 2 on NOVEMBER 28th.
