Online Music Company Tuniverse Launches

CEO BILLY AUSTIN, COO MARY LYNN ROBBINS and SVP SEAN WEISER announced the launch of TUNIVERSE yesterday (10/27). TUNIVERSE is a hybrid between an Internet video channel, online music store, artist promotional vehicle and record label that caters to independent artists of all genres. 

RESTLESS HEART, DAVE ROBBINS of BLACKHAWK and DUE WEST are among the Country artists already on the roster.

The TUNIVERSE website features a HD video player allowing viewers to watch video content combined with a virtual store to easily download music. The site highlights each TUNIVERSE artist with photos, tour details and behind-the-scenes videos.

AUSTIN said: "With the music industry's 'point of sale' migrating to the web, it became apparent to me that at least part of the music industry's 'point of discovery' should also migrate to the web. There's still that kid inside of me that falls in love with a new artist and I want to tell everyone about how great they are and be one of the first to 'just know they are going to be huge.' It's a passion of mine to get behind artists that I know people will hear and ask 'why aren't these guys famous?' As TUNIVERSE expands, we plan to grow to be a brand that will be a trusted and valued source of great music regardless of genre."

The company is presenting the official launch party TODAY (10/28) at the WILDHORSE SALOON in NASHVILLE. RESTLESS HEART, DUE WEST, DAVE ROBBINS, LUNA HALO and HERE COME THE MUMMIES are among the performances. The show will be hosted by MTV LATIN AMERICA's CHARLIE VENTURI.
