The BBC TRUST has announced the layoff of 114 of the BBC's 634 senior managers by JULY 2013 and a pay freeze for the company's nine executive board members through AUGUST 2013 as part of a 25% overall cut in executive compensation. New senior managers will be required to show a "clear and explicit discount" against similar private sector salaries.
The moves follow the indefinite suspension of executive board bonuses in JULY. Bonuses and pay for directors and senior managers were previously frozen for the current financial year and will remain frozen through at least 2011.
