WEDNESDAY night's local NEW YORK radio broadcast of the WORLD SERIES marked the first time a woman has broadcast a SERIES game. NEW YORK YANKEES radio analyst SUZYN WALDMAN, who has worked alongside JOHN STERLING on CBS RADIO News WCBS-A/NEW YORK and the YANKEES network for five years, is handling her first SERIES in the booth.
Thanking GEORGE STEINBRENNER for adding her to the team's radio crew, WALDMAN told MLB.COM, "It was very important to me, and it really meant a lot to me. It's the highest thing you can do in baseball, broadcast a WORLD SERIES game."
