Layoffs Ahead?

Layoffs or other staff reductions may be in store at the ASSOCIATED PRESS, as POLITICO's MICHAEL CALDERONE reports that the news service has not met its target for 10% payroll cuts by the end of the year. CALDERONE reports that a comment on the union listserv recently said that the company is 60% on the way towards its goal of a 10% payroll reduction.

A voluntary retirement offer thus summer resulted in just under 100 staffers taking the deal, according to CALDERONE.
