Condolences to family and friends of longtime RICHMOND radio personality HARVEY LEE HUDSON JR., who died SUNDAY in RICHMOND at 88, according to the RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH.
HUDSON started in radio in 1940 at WRVA-A, rising to morning host before moving to crosstown WLEE-A as morning man and, later, VP of the station in a tenure that lasted from 1946 through 1972. He later became VP of NATIONWIDE COMMUNICATIONS and GM at ABC affiliate WXEX-TV (now WRIC-TV)/PETERSBURG-RICHMOND and a partner in independent UHF group TVX. Since 1991, he hosted a weekly show, "HARVEY HUDSON'S PASSING PARADE," first on WTVR-A, then WZEZ, and most recently SATURDAY mornings on WLEE-A.
