CITADEL Sports KCSF-A (THE SPORTS ANIMAL)/COLORADO SPRINGS, debuting its new format THURSDAY (11/5) will be the new flagship for minor league baseball's COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX in 2010. The team previously aired on SALEM Talk KZNT-A.
KCSF is dropping its Classic Country format in favor of a return to Sports programming, retaining CITADEL MEDIA's IMUS IN THE MORNING and adding PREMIERE's JIM ROME and FOX SPORTS RADIO. The station, then KKML, was known as "THE SPORTS ANIMAL" in 2004-08.
"Having recently completed one of the most exciting seasons in our history and having some of the most talented players in all of Minor League Baseball like CARLOS GONZALEZ and ERIC YOUNG JR., we are thrilled to be bringing our exciting brand of baseball and future major league stars to our new radio flagship, SPORTS ANIMAL AM 1300," said SKY SOX Pres./GM TONY ENSOR. "We know our fans will be just as excited as we are to have our new radio home on the only COLORADO SPRINGS station that specializes in sports."
"We decided that bringing back the SPORTS ANIMAL and sports radio was important for this community and to have the COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX as the cornerstone of the programming is a fantastic fit for everyone," said CITADEL market GM MIKE KNAR.
