CAPITOL/NASHVILLE artist DIERKS BENTLEY has discovered he has a special tie to YESTERDAY's (11/5) shooting tragedy in FORT HOOD, TX. DIERKS discovered a photo of himself at a recent meet & greet with Sgt. KIMBERLY MUNLEY, the civilian police officer who confronted Major NIDAL MALIK HASAN, the soldier accused of shooting 13 people and wounded several others.
MUNLEY shot HASAN four times during his shooting spree and was wounded in the gunfire exchange. The photo of DIERKS and MUNLEY is being used on several media outlets as they uncover the story of her heroic acts.
DIERKS said on his TWITTER page today: " [I] was able to speak to Sgt. MUNLEY & pass along my prayers for a speedy recovering. She's tough and couldn't be more nice or humble. [A] real hero." MUNLEY is currently in stable condition at a local hospital.
