With seven weeks left on his contract, CBS RADIO Sports WIP-A/PHILADELPHIA morning host ANGELO CATALDI tells the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER's MICHAEL KLEIN that the discussions have been "more difficult than in the past." SVP/Market Manager MARC RAYFIELD told KLEIN, "Discussions are moving along slowly as they often do, but they are moving along." CATALDI's agent STEVE MOUNTAIN declined comment.
CATALDI, a former INQUIRER sportswriter, has been with WIP since 1988, paired first with TOM BROOKSHIER and later with fellow former INQUIRER writer AL MORGANTI, who remains co-host with sports anchor RHEA HUGHES. The show's signature event, the eating contest WING BOWL, is set for FEBRUARY 5th.
