Walter C. Miller Receives Irving Waugh Award Of Excellence

The COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (CMA) has announced that former CMA AWARDS Executive Producer WALTER C. MILLER has been given the IRVING WAUGH AWARD OF EXCELLENCE. MILLER was recognized for his 40 years of working with the CMA AWARDS at a ceremony on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6th in NASHVILLE.
MCA/NASHVILLE artist VINCE GILL was on hand to present MILLER with the award, which recognizes an individual who has "dramatically broadened and improved Country Music's influence on a national or international scale." Previous winners include veteran broadcaster IRVING WAUGH (1983), former BMI President/CEO FRANCES PRESTON (1987), the first Executive Director of the CMA, JO WALKER-MEADOR (1991), and the legendary JOHNNY CASH (2003).
CMA CEO TAMMY GENOVESE said: "For nearly four decades, WALTER has contributed immeasurably to the success and popularity of the CMA AWARDS. His vision and passion for this program and our artists is an inspiration to those fortunate enough to have worked with him. His indelible stamp is forever part of our industry's crown jewel, the CMA AWARDS, and we are forever thankful."
MILLER added: ""Country Music is my anthem. After all this time, I've become an honorary NASHVILLIAN. This is my second home."
