CAPITOL RECORDS/NASHVILLE West Coast Rep MIKE KRINIK is set to return to radio, as ALL ACCESS has learned that he will take the PD post at ENTERCOM's KBWF (95.7 THE WOLF)/SAN FRANCISCO.
This is a return to ENTERCOM for KRINIK, who programmed WGGY/WILKES-BARRE, PA for many years before moving to CAPITOL 5-years ago. KRINIK replaces former PD SCOTT MAHALICK, who left for ALPHA BROADCASTING's KUPL/PORTLAND, OR.
"MIKE brings an amazing portfolio of experience to the job, having successfully programmed stations & promoted fresh country superstars to #1," said ENTERCOM/SAN FRANCISCO VP/GM DWIGHT WALKER. "His knowledge of country music artists, lifestyle, & listeners will be instrumental in moving The WOLF to the next level."
During his time at CAPITOL, KRINIK developed creative partnerships with radio, digital and other media, most recently helping launch the careers of COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (CMA) New Artist of the Year LADY ANTEBELLUM, ERIC CHURCH, and LUKE BRYAN.
"Not the thickest SAN FRANCISCO fog, nor a night on the 'Rock' could keep me from taking this amazing opportunity," said KRINIK. "This is what I always envisioned -- a 'dream radio job'-- and it's a great thrill to be reunited with SVP/Programming PAT PAXTON, VP/Country Music MIKE MOORE and my old ENTERCOM friends to begin a new journey with the SAN FRANCISCO WOLF staff!"
At CAPITOL RECORDS, VP/Promotion STEVE HODGES tells us that he will immediately start searching for KRINIK's replacement. KRINIK will remain with the label until DECEMBER 15th. "MIKE was a big part of our success over the last five years. We wish him all the best," said HODGES.
