LONG ISLAND UNIVERSITY PUBLIC RADIO NETWORK, the outgoing licensee of noncommercial WLIU/SOUTHAMPTON, NY and WCWP/BROOKVILLE, NY, has entered into a Consent Decree with the FCC's Enforcement Bureau that settles issues with the stations' undewrwriting announcements, which the Commission was investigating as impermissible advertisements. LIU will pay $24,000 in a "voluntary contribution" to the U.S. Treasury to settle the matter.
The stations are in the process of being sold to a local group, PECONIC PUBLIC BROADCASTING, INC.
