Fly 92.1 DJ Suspended After Fight At Club Event

QANTUM Top 40 WFFY (FLY 92.1)/FT. WALTON BEACH's KEVIN LEON MURPHY was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly attacking a man at local club over the weekend, reports THE NEWS HERALD. According to a Sheriff’s Office arrest report, MURPHY "struck a man in the head with a glass beer bottle with enough force to shatter the bottle and leave a two to three-inch cut at the top of the man’s head."

MURPHY had completed a live broadcast from the club at midnight. He had to leave the company vehicle at the club once he was placed under arrest. QANTAM COMMUNICATIONS has taken disciplinary action against MURPHY.

"We have suspended KEVIN pending further investigation," said Market Mgr. GEORGE FRANCIS.

In his written statement, MURPHY said he met the man on the patio per his request. MURPHY said he felt the man had stepped towards him in a threatening way and was going to attack him. He hit the man, but he charged MURPHY again so MURPHY grabbed him and threw him down.
