Legendary radio 'Morning Mayor" HARRY HARRISON was inducted into the NEW YORK STATE BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION Hall of Fame on NOVEMBER 12th. HARRISON got his first NYC gig at WMCA, then became a fixture on WABC.
"HARRY was incredibly good at appealing to everyone," NYSBA Pres. JOSEPH A. REILLY told the NY MEDA EXAMINER. "During more than a decade at WABC, his ability to balance the young sound of Top 40 radio with adult charisma [was] vital to the ratings success,"
"[Moving from PEORIA to NEW YORK CITY] was a big move for me," HARRISON recalled. "I thought, ‘Wow, this is something!’ All these years later, it’s very gratifying. It means that people accepted me and kept me on the radio; I became part of their lives and their families."
