STEPHENS MEDIA GROUP announced the return of Christian Top 40 KCXR (100.3 THE KROSS)/TULSA TODAY (11/16). THE KROSS returns to the airwaves after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus. THE KROSS debuted in 2002 as a Christian Rock station and for the past two years has simulcast sister station Christian AC KXOJ/TULSA. STEPHENS MEDIA GROUP now aims to reach a slightly older and broader demographic with the Christian CHR format.
"The first KROSS was more extreme: lots of hard rock, metal, etc. This time around it is a much more accessible Top 40 flavor with a variety of styles including hip-hop, pop and, of course, there is still plenty of rock. We are just focused on hit songs, wherever they may come from. This is the next generation of Christian hit music and we're excited to have a locally plugged-in station again," said STEPHENS MEDIA GROUP National PD BOB THORNTON.
The station plans to stream in 2010. The website is www.thekross.fm.
