ACM Announces New Board of Directors

The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC has announced its new board of directors, which are elected by the ACADEMY's membership. Newly appointed directors include Country producer TONY BROWN and ASCAP's JOHN BRIGGS in the "Affiliated" category. BNA RECORDS/NASHVILLE artist CRAIG MORGAN, AMERICAN FEDERATION of MUSICIANS' DAVE POMEROY, and WARNER BROS./NASHVILLE artist BLAKE SHELTON will be directors for the "Artist/Entertainer/MBI" category.
ED WARM, of JOE's BAR was elected for "Club/Casino/Venue Operator" and FITZGERALD HARLEY's MARK HARTLEY was elected in the "Manager" category. PAT HIGDON, of UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING will represent the "Music Publisher" elects and UNIVERSAL SOUTH's FLETCHER FOSTER and SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE's BUTCH WAUGH have been elected as directors for the "Record Company" category.
Directors are elected from each category based on the number of members in that category. Each director serves staggered two-year terms, with half the board membership changing each year.
CHAIRMAN JOHN GRADY said: "I’m excited to welcome our new board of directors and our continuing board. 2010 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for the ACADEMY. These dedicated professionals are the core of the ACADEMY and will help build our awards and other television endeavors moving forward.”
ACM LIFTING LIVES has also announced its new board of directors for 2009-2010. FITZGERALD HARTLEY's MARK HARTLEY is the new Vice-President. The new directors are SUN TRUST BANK's LORI BADGETT, MUSICARES' DEBBIE CARROLL, CAPITOL/NASHVILLE's MIKE DUNGAN, 19 ENTERTAINMENT's ANN EDELBUNTE, FLETCHER FOSTER of UNIVERSAL RECORDS SOUTH, and MANATT, PHELPS & PHILLIPS' GARY GILBERT.
