  Condolences to family and friends of longtime WAGA-TV/ATLANTA news anchor JIM AXEL, who died SATURDAY of cancer at 75.
  AXEL started his career in radio at KANO-A/ANOKA, MN and WCHK-A/CANTON, GA before joining WSB-A/ATLANTA in 1959, where he became Night News Editor before moving to WAGA-TV, then the CBS affiliate and now the FOX O&O in the ATLANTA market, in 1962. He retired at the end of 1996.
