EMMIS RADIO/AUSTIN will start simulcasting Triple A 107.1 KGSR on 93.3 FM, starting FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20th at 5p -- and will continue to do so for 10 days. On, MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30th, KGSR will be broadcast exclusively on the 93.3, while a new Spanish-language, Regional Mexican format will launch on 107.1 FM.
Top 40/Rhythmic KDHT previously aired on the 93.3 signal, but it started stunting last TUESDAY (NET NEWS, 11/17). This move is actually good for KGSR, as the 93.3 signal boasts one of the largest total coverage areas in all of TEXAS, reaching new, potential listeners in areas of CENTRAL TEXAS that its previous signal did not reach. The signal transition and new Spanish format will optimally allow the respective stations the ability to best reach the communities they serve.
The new station's name and lineup will be announced at 5p on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30th; it will include personalities already familiar to AUSTIN’s Spanish-speaking community, as well as dynamic, new talents.
