WAPE Morning Show Puts Listeners To Work

COX Top 40 WAPE/JACKSONVILLE morning show MARK KAYE and THE BIG APE Morning Mess surprised one of their unemployed fans this morning with the ultimate prize -- a job! ERIKA ALEXANDER from JACKSONVILLE was the first person to find work as part of "THE BIG APE Job Search."

"ERICA has been unemployed and looking for a position on her own for a few months," explained KAYE. "She came to us and we found her a job almost instantly. She starts work MONDAY morning!"

The promotion began last week with an on-air about who has the worst job. "Several of our listeners called to say that they were unemployed and had been for quite sometime," said KAYE. "To them there was no such thing as a bad job. Well, that started the wheels in motion. I told our PD TIM CLARKE that I wanted to find jobs for our listeners and he agreed it was the right thing to do."

"WAPE is committed to serving our community," said CLARKE. "If our listeners want concert tickets we get them concert tickets. If they want jobs, well, we get them those too."
