CITADEL MEDIA's "IMUS IN THE MORNING" won't be disappearing from the RALEIGH-DURHAM airwaves despite the moves that left his local affiliate, MCCLATCHEY Sports WRBZ-A (AM850 THE BUZZ), awaiting sale to CURTIS MEDIA GROUP and changing formats.
TRIANGLE BUSINESS JOURNAL reports that while CURTIS hasn't decided on the station's ultimate format, it says that it will keep IMUS on the air whether the station flips to Oldies, a "lifestyle" Talk format to complement now-sister Talk WPTF-A, or something else. CURTIS MEDIA Chairman/CEO DON CURTIS told the JOURNAL, "We will be carrying IMUS. He's a proven commodity in the market. He’ll do quite well."
WRBZ's Sports programming has moved to CAPITOL BROADCASTING Sports WDNC-A (now 620 THE BUZZ) and Sports WCMC (99.9 THE FAN).
