The MINORITY MEDIA AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS COUNCIL is asking the FCC to freeze applications to use VHF TV channels 5 and 6 for low power and digital TV and to reject any applications for the channels filed in AUGUST's filing window.
The MMTC proposed in its "Radio Rescue" plan submitted this SUMMER that the Commission reassign the channels as part of an expansion of the FM band to allow reallocation of all AM signals to FM. Several other parties, including NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO, have asked the Commission to freeze television applications for channels 5 and 6.
