CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KHOW-A/DENVER afternoon co-host DAN CAPLIS saved the life of a fellow touch football player on THANKSGIVING Day, pulling a defibrillator from his car and using it to revive the man.
CAPLIS began carrying a defibrillator in his car after a friend's son died of cardiac arrest during football practice, and got to put it to good use in saving the life of Dr. CHEZ THOMPSON, who collapsed on the field during the game last THURSDAY. THOMPSON was being attended to by Dr. SCOTT BAINBRIDGE, who performed CPR but could not obtain a pulse; CAPLIS brought out his defibrillator and the men were able to resuscitate THOMPSON, who is now expected to make a full recovery.
CAPLIS said, "I would have felt so incredibly helpless to have been there without the machine. I was in the right place at the right time with the right people."
