Compass Sets Texas Bowl, NCAA Hoops Coverage

COMPASS MEDIA NETWORKS adds to its 2009 NCAA football coverage with the addition of the TEXAS BOWL, live from HOUSTON's RELIANT STADIUM on DECEMBER 21st. KEVIN BURKHARDT of NEW YORK regional cable sports channel SNY and former SAINTS, DOLPHINS, CHIEFS, JAGUARS, and GIANTS Safety SAMMY KNIGHT will call the action.
"We have had a tremendous season broadcasting some of the best games in college football. We are thrilled to now offer our affiliates, listeners, and advertisers expanded coverage of college football with the addition of The TEXAS BOWL," said COMPASS Sports GM MICHELLE SALVATORE.
Basketball Coverage Starts 12/12
The syndicator also released its schedule of NCAA men's basketball games for the coming season, with coverage beginning DECEMBER 12th, with INDIANA taking on JOHN CALIPARI's KENTUCKY WILDCATS. After the holidays, the schedule resumes JANUARY 10th with NORTH CAROLINA playing VIRGINIA TECH.
FOX SPORTS RADIO afternoon co-host MATT "MONEY" SMITH will call the play-by-play with former UMASS, VILLANOVA, and MANHATTAN coach STEVE LAPPAS and former NBA player DENNIS SCOTT as analysts and MSG NETWORK basketball commentator JON ROTHSTEIN as studio host.
