The FCC has announced that the new revised biennial ownership Form 323 will be available on the Commission's electronic filing system by WEDNESDAY (12/9). A new dedicated Form 323 website has been created at www.fcc.gov/form323 to aid users, and the Commission will hold a workshop on the new form on WEDNESDAY at 2p live in the FCC meeting room and online.
In addition, the Commission addressed concerns that the new form requires individuals and businesses with ownership interests to provide Social Security numbers and/or Taxpayer ID numbers to the filing entities by establishing a "Special Use FRN," usable only for Form 323, and noted that individuals have the option of obtaining their own FRN directly from the FCC's CORES system, obviating the need to disclose their SSNs to anyone other than the Commission; the individuals can give the filing entity the FRN rather than their Social Security number.
