If the City of ORLANDO couldn't pay to decorate downtown for the holidays, CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WTKS (REAL RADIO 104.1)/ORLANDO's BUCKETHEAD and his listeners weren't going to let that keep the city from being festive, and on SATURDAY, the host and hundreds of volunteers came out in the rain at LAKE EOLA to hang donated decorations and collect food for the SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK.
The city left its decorations -- $250,000 worth -- in storage this year due to budget concerns, but BUCKETHEAD and his followers were able to gather over 350,000 lights to make the downtown area more CHRISTMAS-friendly.
The station is also running a contest for the best holiday decorations among downtown businesses.
