FCC OKs WPAL Sale; KAKS Price $1.11 Million

The FCC has once again turned away a challenge to the sale of Contemporary Christian WPAL-F/RIDGEVILLE, SC-CHARLESTON, approving the sale by CASWELL CAPITAL PARTNERS on behalf of receiver CHARLES W. CHERRY to WAY-FM MEDIA GROUP for $1.65 million. Former licensee GRESHAM COMMUNICATIONS filed to deny the sale, as it did against the transfer of the license by CHERRY to CASWELL, but the Commission turned the challenge down on FRIDAY (12/4) after almost seven months of consideration.
In deals freshly filed with the FCC, the previously announced sale of DAVIDSON MEDIA's KAKS/HUNTSVILLE, AR and FM translator K244DS/FAYETTEVILLE, AR to JAY BUNYARD's CARROLL COUNTY BROADCASTING, INC. (HOG RADIO) as the new home of BUNYARD's Sports format in the NORTHWEST ARKANSAS market now has a price attached to it, with the filing revealing a $1.11 million price tag.
WALLER SUTTON CAPITAL's WS2K RADIO LLC is selling Adult Standards WHYL-A (NICE 960)/CARLISLE, PA to TRUSTWORTHY RADIO LLC for $300,000 cash and $150,000 in a promissory note to be repaid when the station is resold to a third party.
TRUE CONCEPTS OF LEVY COUNTY, INC. is selling noncommercial Variety WGSG-A/MAYO, FL to SON FIRST BROADCASTING, INC. for $351,500.
NORTHEAST GOSPEL BROADCASTING INC. is selling FM translator W233AM/GLOVERSVILLE, NY to MICHAEL A. SLEEZER D/B/A CMS BROADCASTING COMPANY for $33,600, paid as lease payments for space on the buyer's tower for LPTV station WFNY-CA/GLOVERSVILLE for the antenna of noncommercial FM WNGG/GLOVERSVILLE.
And HORIZON CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP is selling FM translator K225AO/LOMPOC, CA to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $30,000.
