NPR Launches New Mobile Web Site, Android App

NPR has unveiled a new mobile version of its NPR.org website optimized for cell phone browsers, and has also announced the coming launch of an NPR NEWS application for ANDROID-based cell phones.

The new mobile web site offers access to hundreds of live and on-demand NPR and NPR station programs, with a similar look and feel to the NPR NEWS app for the iPHONE and iPOD TOUCH.  Users can access the new site at m.npr.org.
 
"We’ve seen a nearly tenfold increase in our mobile traffic since the launch of our iPHONE app earlier this year," said SVP/GM of NPR DIGITAL MEDIA KINSEY WILSON. "With the redesign of our mobile web site and the launch of the ANDROID app we’re now able to bring that superior experience to a much wider audience."
