AUSTRALIA's MACQUARIE RADIO NETWORK LTD, has inked a deal for a joint venture with PACIFIC STAR NETWORK that would see MACQUARIE involved in programming PACIFIC STAR's Easy Listening 3MP and Sports 3AK (1116 SEN)/MELBOURNE.
PACIFIC STAR NETWORK would remain an independent entity under the deal, with a joint venture formed for the operation of the radio stations.
Possibly related to the move is the departure of host STEVE PRICE from FAIRFAX Talk 2UE/SYDNEY, a rival of MACQUARIE's Talk 2GB/SYDNEY. PRICE, who previously worked in MELBOURNE, has been with 2UE for eight years and is rumored to be talking to MACQUARIE about joining the company and being heard in MELBOURNE again.
