GREAT SCOTT BROADCASTING has shut down Oldies WPAZ-A/POTTSTOWN, PA after 58 years on the air and has put the station up for sale.
The POTTSTOWN MERCURY reports that the company's MITCHELL SCOTT said that "dealing with 'PAZ," several hours north of the company's other holdings, became "not as productive." SCOTT told the paper, "WPAZ will get back on the air again. This is only 'til I find a buyer, and I hope that will happen shortly. It's a great property." Nine employees lost their jobs in the closing.
The company's founder, MITCHELL's father HERB SCOTT, launched the station in 1951.
