Wilson Joins Columbia/Nashville, Friedman Segues To New Position

UNIVERSAL RECORDS SOUTH National Director of Promotion MIKE WILSON has joined COLUMBIA/NASHVILLE as Director of National Promotion. This is a return to the SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE family for WILSON, as he worked in promotion for RCA/NASHVILLE for more than 17 years prior to joining U-SOUTH.

COLUMBIA VP/National Promotion JIMMY RECTOR said: “I am excited about someone of MIKE’s experience and pedigree joining our team. His experience, enthusiasm and love for music will be a great addition to Big Red. MIKE, welcome home, we have missed you.”

WILSON added: “It’s very exciting to me to be going home! This is the place where I cut my teeth in promotion and enjoyed several years of success with the great artists and people there. I look forward to joining JOE GALANTE and being a part of this winning team.”

WILSON replaces DAVID FRIEDMAN, who will segue to the newly-created position of Director of Field Promotion beginning TODAY (12/15). FRIEDMAN will also assume responsibility for a regional territory. WILSON will be on the job in JANUARY.
