KFDI Wraps Up A Big Christmas For Troops And Kids

JOURNAL Country KFDI/WICHITA wrapped up a big CHRISTMAS for troops overseas and children here at home.

KFDI’s BRIAN & KELLIE morning team collected a staggering 22,000 pounds of CHRISTMAS gifts and decorations to send to troops overseas during their "CHRISTMAS In A Box" project. The 2009 total is an increase of 3,000 pounds over 2008.

Items were donated during a Troop Support Motorcycle Ride with more than 750 American Legion Riders on OCTOBER 17th, and by KFDI listeners at area businesses throughout OCTOBER and NOVEMBER.

In addition to the 11 tons of items, $19,000 in cash was donated to cover postage.
