CITADEL News/Talk KGO-A/SAN FRANCISCO 21st annual THANKSGIVING charities fundraiser, benefiting four BAY AREA agencies that assist the homeless and hungry, raised $205,091.60 during this past holiday season. KGO host GIL GROSS helped inspire thousands of KGO listeners to assist the many who are in great need.
"GIL and the rest of the KGO staff should be very proud," VP/Operations JACK SWANSON said, "During the deepest part of this country’s recession together with our listeners we made a big impact. There is nothing more important than feeding hungry people."
The benefactors for KGO’s THANKSGIVING Charities are ST. ANTHONY’S FOUNDATION in SAN FRANCISCO, ST. VINCENT DE PAUL in OAKLAND, SACRED HEART COMMUNITY SERVICE in SAN JOSE and FRESH START WALNUT CREEK.
"My deepest gratitude to our loyal listeners who year after year continue to support this worthy cause, the dozens of dedicated volunteers who are buried in vital paperwork that must be completed and to my colleagues here at KGO for their support," GROSS said.
