As first hinted on ALL ACCESS, WCBS-F (JACK FM)/NEW YORK has officially welcomed BRIAN THOMAS as the station's new PD, effective today. THOMAS, a 24-year programming veteran with experience at such stations as KFRC-A/F and KYCY-A/F/SAN FRANCISCO, WBSB/BALTIMORE, WOMX-A/F/ORLANDO, and more, most recently served as Oldies Brand Manager at ENTERCOM Oldies KBSG/SEATTLE.
Commented WCBS-F & wcbsfm-com/HD2 VP/GM CHAD BROWN, "BRIAN has consistently proven himself to be one of the industry's most creative, consistent and respected programmers. He brings major market experience in formats ranging from CHR to Oldies, Hot AC and Classic Rock to JACK FM at a key time in the development of this new and unique brand in NEW YORK."
In joining JACK FM, THOMAS noted, "What a thrill to be in NEW YORK and at a station which is delivering something unlike anything that is being offered in the market. The station has a great sound and image breaking all the rules."
In related news, ENTERCOM Oldies KBSG/SEATTLE has, as reported first here on ALL ACCESS, officially nabbed former CBS Oldies KRTH (K-EARTH 101)/LOS ANGELES PD JAY COFFEY to take the station's PD role in the wake of THOMAS' departure. COFFEY's first day will be MARCH 15th.
"JAY has spent many years at the legendary oldies station K-EARTH/LOS ANGELES, rising through the ranks of On-Air talent, Music Director, Assistant PD and most recently Program Director," said ENTERCOM/SEATTLE Market Manager JERRY McKENNA. "He has left an indelible mark on the oldies radio landscape and has benefited greatly by working along side some of the most talented programming minds in the business. His vision and programming expertise is exactly what KBSG needs to take it to the next level."
"I am thrilled to be joining the team at KBSG and ENTERCOM SEATTLE," said COFFEY. "I am looking forward to working for one of the best oldies stations in AMERICA."
