CANADIAN SATELLITE RADIO says that it signed up over 50,000 self-paying and trial subscribers for XM CANADA since its launch, and that it has 44,000 self-paying customers as of the end of its fiscal first quarter (FEBRUARY 28). The growth is coming mostly from retail sales, led by DELPHI's ROADY XT; its automobile sales have been entirely on a trial basis thus far through GM and SUBARU.
Pres./COO STEPHEN TAPP says that "XM CANADA's choice of award-winning radios at retailers has resulted in our winning a greater portion of the Canadian satellite radio market, and when combined with increasing factory installations by our automotive partners, I am confident that these two streams will yield strong year-end results."
