Radio Spot Voice Legend Jan Gabriel Passes

Condolences to the friends and family of JAN C. GABRIEL, who passed away. GABRIEL possessed one of the signature radio voices in the '60s; he was the first announcer to come up with the phrase, "SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!" for the US 30 DRAG STRIP and SANTE FE SPEEDWAY TV & radio commercials that aired in the MIDWEST.

According to CHICAGOLANDRADIO&MEDIA.COM, the phrase would also be used in many other markets (GABRIEL sopmetimes did the vocals as well). It often can be heard TODAY in Monster Truck spots.
