APPLE has officially sent out invitations to the media, inviting them to its next showcase at the YERBA BUENA CENTER FOR THE ARTS in SAN FRANCISCO on JAN 27th at 10a PT. Anticipation is riding higher this year than past affairs because of the rampant rumors that APPLE will unveil a tablet, rumored to be called the iSLATE.

While the invite is typically vague, a request to "Come see our latest creation" does hint at the unveiling of a new product instead of a newer generation of something already on the market. As to what the tablet would feature, ARS TECHNICA cites a wife array of rumors, including the possibility of VERIZON being involved; a new SDK and tablet "simulator" for developers, "unexpected" UI features; geared at promoting the publishing industry and e-books; or geared towards visual artists and music/video consumption.
