WSM-A/Nashville Plans Carl Smith Tribute

Country Music Hall of Famer CARL SMITH, who passed away on JANUARY 16th at his home in FRANKLIN, TN (NET NEWS 1/18), will be the subject of a radio tribute on GAYLORD Country WSM-A/NASHVILLE on THURSDAY (1/21). The tribute will air from 8-11p (CT).

WSM's EDDIE STUBBS will be playing many of SMITH's most important records and airing some excerpts from an interview that he did with SMITH in 1997.

STUBBS said: "He told me he'd come back for his 85th birthday, but we missed that by two years and two months. He was truly part of Country music's greatest generation."
