GREATER MEDIA/BOSTON has named PHIL REDO as Market Manager, effective in early APRIL. REDO, who currently serves as VP/Station Operations and Strategy for NEW YORK PUBLIC RADIO, is no stranger to the GREATER MEDIA/BOSTON cluster. He served as the PD of the company's WMJX/BOSTON from '86-'90, and also worked as an on-air personality for the original WROR back in the early 1980's.
"I'm honored to have this opportunity to return to a company I have so much affection and admiration for. To leave WNYC has been a very difficult decision. I loved my time in public radio, made a lot of new friends and learned a great deal. But, to be offered the chance to work with such great people and strong properties in a city my wife and I love so much was impossible to resist. I can't wait to get started," said REDO.
"Now more than ever, the radio industry needs intelligent strategic leadership. That is PHIL REDO. I am also very happy to bring home a GREATER MEDIA alumnus," said GREATER MEDIA Pres. and CEO PETER SMYTH. "PHIL's passion for radio and compassion for the people in radio make him the perfect leader for our BOSTON cluster."
